Dr. Newsom's Retirement Letter
December 19, 2023
Dear Patients, Colleagues and Friends,
It is with great excitement that I share some important news regarding my dental practice. After 37 years I have decided to make a transition to retirement and to sell my dental practice. I have been searching for some time to find the right person to take over for me and after a year-long search I can officially announce that Dr. Meredith Hughes has bought my practice. I will be staying on through the next six months to finish up some cases and introduce you all to her.
I have had the distinct honor and privilege of being your dentist for the past 37 years. The time has just flown by and I consider you all to be more than my patients, you’re my friends. I consider you all to be my family. I never dreamed that I would have been so blessed in my professional life to have had such wonderful patients and saying goodbye is so very difficult. I have been fortunate to find a young dentist who shares my treatment philosophy as well as my same personality. Dr. Hughes is a well-trained dentist and someone that you will instantly grow to love.
Please help me to make Dr. Hughes feel welcomed in our practice. She and I have many personal and professional similarities and I assure you she will continue to emphasize the importance of regular preventive care and periodontal maintenance, as well as conservative restorative options. She is bringing the latest in digital dentistry to the practice.
We will be working together over the next few months to insure a smooth transition. I know that you will be in excellent hands with Dr. Hughes, and she looks forward to getting to know each of you as I have.
Once again, I offer you, my friends, my sincere appreciation for the many years of faith that you have shown in me and the support that you have always given.
With sincere appreciation and my best wishes,
Dr. Sedgie Newsom
